for Demanding Environments
Our History
Before Lunar Lighting began, high-quality HMI illumination was primarily associated with film sets. Through his work with the movie industry, Australian innovator George Ossolinski saw an opportunity to bring that quality of light to demanding real-world situations.
Why should fictional drama have better lighting than real-life scenarios, where there is no chance of a second take?
George set about developing and manufacturing Anti-Glare HMI Lunar Lighting, supported by registered patents and trademarks.
He spoke with potential users to understand their needs and anticipate practical challenges. The result was portable, energy-efficient daylight-quality lighting for emergency response, search and rescue, industry, maintenance, roadworks, rail, aviation, mining, oil and gas, surveillance and defence.
Lunar’s approach combines rugged construction with efficiency, practical operation and ease of use. Selected designs have been allocated NATO Stock Numbers by the Department of Defence following testing.
Today, the range extends from units that one person can carry to towable lighting towers. Engineers value their design and construction, while field teams rely on uniform Anti-Glare illumination with minimal shadowing.
Our guiding principle remains the same: provide dependable illumination when and where people need it. Lunar Lights also continue to serve film productions and special events.
